I cannot make it a day on my Twitter timeline without stumbling across the ever-so-expected tweet: “Where are the WOMEN in web3? Drop the names of some in this space!”
The tweets are genuine. The replies even more so: comments are always filled with people tagging Web3 women.

Admittedly though, men outnumber women in this space by significant margins. So indeed, we must ask ourselves … where are all the women?
Plenty of women are crypto-curious, but they truly have no idea where to begin. And more importantly, many of them don’t know of the women who are already here. Why do I think this? Because that was me a little over a month ago.
So, after only a bit of time in this space, I was approached by four crypto-native women and one incredible female artist to help create an NFT project (Astro Girls NFT) centered around onboarding women into Web3. Our goal is to tell the stories of the incredible women who are here today, and to onboard new women to be here with us for tomorrow.
This project is something I care about deeply and want to share with you all. So, the remainder of this article will answer some key questions about us, the artist, our mission, and why we think all of this matters. Because it does matter. And we would love you along for the ride with us.
There is a lot of power in a name. Let me be the one to introduce us: Sandra, Cindy, Mitzy, Amy, and Regan. Two in Malaysia, two in Australia, and I am in Los Angeles. We cross many time zones, and we hope our community will span across the world alongside us.
And we have a plan. We have created a unique NFT project — Astro Girls — and every NFT will serve as an all-access pass to the resources someone would need to successfully onboard: mentorship sessions, AMAs, 1–1’s, and more.
We recognize the importance of community. We want to foster a community that is inclusive, diverse, and above all: kind. We are so excited to unite people all over the world through comprehensive education, cute merchandise, and a powerful women-centered community.
That was sort of random, to be honest. But the name has come to symbolize our entire mission. We wanted a name that was unapologetically feminine. Astrology came to mind. We love astro girls, crystal girls, any girls who love something despite social stigmas. We want this project to pay homage to those women — and to prove that no person needs to change to “fit in” to Web3. Be feminine, be masculine, quiet, introverted, extroverted. Come as you are.
Fun fact: Eleven Zhang approached us! She was a curious artist who wanted to get into the NFT space. She is a household name in Shanghai — where she illustrates for luxury brands like Valentino and Gucci.

We believe Solana is more newbie-friendly! We also think there is a shortage of women-based NFT projects on Solana.
We are launching in early February.

The mission to onboard women into Web3 is not something we can do alone — so we thank you for taking the time to read this and for supporting us.
